An Afternoon with Eric Luse of Eric Ross Winery
Saturday, September 14th Noon to 5:00 pm
Locals Tasting Room - Geyserville
The "Silver Image" Viognier and Gout De la Vigne are photo labels by Eric who spent a full career at the San Francisco Chronicle as a photographer while making wines for Eric Ross Winery. With a 20th anniversary coming up in 2014 Eric has come full circle combining his two passions. Come taste the difference with high end fruit and hear more about these new wines!
Eric says this about the 2013 harvest:
"All wine growing season we've been ahead two weeks from last year. The trend continues and this week we'll be picking the Russian River Pinot Noir and the Tempranillo from Lodi. Looks to be a year of the vines ripening loaded with flavor and nice acidity balance to sugar levels so I am quite pleased!
With the heat we've been watering the vines more than last year to keep them healthy and once we do harvest we'll give them a huge drink, a well deserved rest as they go into winter AND an IPA for the winemaker!
So far I'm not concerned about the weather especially with the recurring fog to cool them down at night and our cooling cycle that occurs ever 5 to 6 days. Looks to be a tasty year!"
