Black Oak Vineyard
This morning was a little rough for me. Last night my dogs got a little worked up in the house, so my wife let them out and the fight was on. Two raccoons and two boxers. And eventually me. While I was trying to separate the pup from one of the raccoons the big one came from behind and attacked my leg. That one didn’t fair to well the pup grabbed it by the neck and wouldn’t let go. Anyway. Off to kaiser today for a tetanus shot
On to picking. This am we are picking one of my favorite vineyards in Bennett Valley, Barbed Oak Vineyard. Pinot Noir Swan Clone. The fruit is just fantastic. I am so happy to be able to grow such good wine. Don’t tell the winemakers but Mother Nature and us really make all the wi
ne. Lol.
This vineyard also has another Pinot clone called Calera. And an awesome Chard.
Don’t let the secret out but we T budded an half of acre to a variety called Aligote. Does anybody know that variety?
