It’s been almost a year since Jolee Jane, our jeweler-in-residence—or just “Jane” to her friends here at Locals—moved back down to San Diego to be nearer to her first grandchild. Happily we are regularly re-supplied with new collections made from her eclectic mix of raw gemstones, leather, feathers, antlers, old photographs and slogans hand punched into copper.
People frequently stop into the tasting room just to browse the displays before they persuade themselves to sample our wares, while others find themselves wandering from the bar mid-tasting to check out an eye-catching bracelet or a pair of pendant earrings.
Jane is the founder and Artistic Director of Art Takes a Village, a non-profit
funding therapeutic art sessions for women and children in local shelters. 100% of profits from the sale of jewelry goes to support this program.
While it remains absurd that you could be a grandmother Jane, and we miss you, we still love seeing all your new work brightening up the tasting room!
