I have decided to take on a challenge…..
A little homage to the “Julie & Julia” book.
Besides my passion for wine, I have had a passion for baking. Ever since I can remember I have wanted to be a pastry chef. When I was 11 years old I used to bake cakes and sell slices to my neighbors for $1 each. Going up and down the block toting my cake in a wheelbarrow.
But as life would have it I never did become a pastry chef. Instead I have had a few different careers all of which led me to Locals.
So back to the Challenge……
I will go through this very large cookie cookbook, “The Complete Book of Cookies.” Once a week I will open the cookbook and randomly choose a cookie to bake, and of course pair a wine with it.
So stay tuned for next week’s blog, and my first cookie recipe. As the beloved Julia Child once said “A party without cake is just a meeting.”
