Waffles Part Two

Those of you who saw my last post about cast iron waffle makers are familiar with the many shapes, sizes and types of waffle makers dating back to the early 1900’s. In this post, I put one of them to the test. I used a Wagner high base waffle maker over a gas flame. As you will see, by using a high base I was able to turn the waffles easily to get a nice brown crust on each side. As you’ll also see, making waffles can be a challenge! While this post’s waffle did not turn out perfectly, I believe that posts should be “real” and sometimes that means showing less than perfect results. What I can tell you is that it was great fun to make use of this old cast iron and the waffle itself was delicious! Enjoy.
